Dear gladiolus friends,
I am reporting to you with a new page about gladioli, with which I want to present my 40 years of efforts in gladiolus breeding in a better way. I have embarked on less familiar ground for me, creating a website with the tools of professionals, although I am an amateur at it and that is why there is such a long delay. The website is only about 50% complete, and I am still constantly correcting errors that you may also discover and I will be happy if you point them out to me. I am currently editing videos for several varieties in the offer for 2025, which will allow a better idea of the quality.
Over time, new parts of the website will be added, such as the „World of Gladiolus“ folder, which will display, among others, the latest varieties in testing, as well as domestic and foreign crosses.
I want to reopen the popular column „Growers‘ Advice“ in which I will answer, as before, questions related to the problems of gladiolus growers. Also, a page about gladiolus health is missing, which will write about diseases, treatment and prevention with many photos. My favorite sector „Needle Gladiolus“ will also be richly presented with the most beautiful domestic and foreign news and generally about trends in gladiolus breeding. There will also be introductions of famous breeders.
Information about the activities of our association Gladiola Martin, videos from exhibitions and many other interesting things will be in the folder „World of Gladiolus“.

The thick wax in the wrinkled petals and the delicate brown-burgundy color with a slight hint of purple along the edges of the petals guarantee it a special position in its color group. Excellent decorative gladiola.
93-Z OXANA
The white gladiolus is adorned with red eyes with varying spacing and a yellow border. It has a high number of buds, which is an advantage in terms of vase life. I consider it a three-star variety, which means general quality. I can only deliver cormlets from this variety!!

+Cormels Great combination of colors. Currently modern old pink in the base and large cognac eyes. A slender beauty for the decorative gladiolus category. The basic parameters are shown directly in the photo.
245-Z LEVANDULOVÉ ÚDOLIE
+Cormels Almost flawless pure lavender beauty. Grand Champion R.Teplice 2022 + other awards. Competitive and decorative gladiolus. She inherited her beautiful color from her mother Eloise, who is slightly darker.
258-Z LORI
The lemon-cream white gladiolus differs from other white ones not only in its interesting color combination but also in the shape of its star-shaped petals. The eyes of the upper flowers are green.!
282-Z GOLD LEMON
Gold Lemon has huge flowers when properly nourished. The largest size of the lower flower reaches a width of over 16.6 cm!!!, which today, according to the new NAGC rating, we mark as 500+. It inherited the golden green color from its mother Oriental Green.
215-Z VIKTÓRIA
A sturdy plant with flawless blooms and a bright dark pink to reddish flower color. The deep curl of the star-shaped flowers enhances its appeal.
156-Z FAMOUS LADY
A new variety with ultra-plumped flowers but also with a slight orientation of the flowers to the center. I originally took one star off the 4-star quality, because on some spikes the lower flower is slightly tilted. Very early variety.
304-Z POLAR SUN
VIDEO +Cormels An ice-white 4-star gladiolus with magical burgundy eyes with a cream border resembles the sun in the polar zone. It has thick wax in the petals and the uniformity of the flowers is impeccable.
283-Y RANNÉ ZORE
+Cormels A medium-early gladiolus with a sturdy stem, the flower petals are strongly waxy. The interesting creamy orange pastel shades are reminiscent of the morning dawn.

A gladiola with a long stem and flowers in orange shades. The photo is not good, in reality it is more beautiful and I gave it 3 stars. Other parameters of the gladiolus are directly in the photo.
33-Z AGÁTA
VIDEO Exceptional color combination of salmon pink with light cognac eyes. A powerful, sturdy gladiolus that produces 28 buds and simultaneously holds up to 12 open flowers. Prize-winning at the international exhibition – Bojnice 22.

Brick red base color, edged with a cognac yellow eye, all on a round, frilled, waxy flower (photo of a small plant). Slightly single-rowed, colorful, gorgeous „decorative“.
37-Q ARMÍNA
+ Cormels Unusual, beautiful apricot-orange color with a lighter tongue, in my record with the sign- !!! , which indicates high decorative quality. It multiplies well, produces many large cormels.

VIDEO Breeding needle-serrated gladiolus is a modern trend. Gladioli get a new decoration in the form of needles-teeth around the perimeter of all flowers. Early variety with pink-white flowers in pastel design. Rarity !!.
39-Z DE LUXE
The large, square-shaped, salmon-cream flowers with star-shaped petals have nicely matching light red eyes. The delicately ruffled waxy petals enhance the overall impression.
99-Y ELOISE
VIDEO A beautiful, early, luminous blue variety with a hint of purple, with a darker shade of blue-violet in the throat and edges of the petals. Multiple exhibition winner in its category.
19-Q EMILY
VIDEO The sovereign winner of the audience poll at the international gladiolus exhibition in Bojnice in competition with well-known foreign varieties. Attractive, bright pastel color that stands out from afar. Good health and reproduction through large cormlets.
241-Z FOREVER LOVE
+Cormels There are more gladiolus with similar color combinations. This new variety stands out for its height, strength, high number of buds, exemplary arrangement of flowers and inflorescence. Exhibition and commercial variety introduced in 2024 and has already been awarded at the exhibition.
49-Y GRETA
Bright red eyes are placed on a gold-yellow cream background. The flowers are strongly waxy – lasting. I have no brut from this variety.
140-Z HAPPY EYES
Rarely seen elegant cream old pink with a beautiful red eye. There are 24 buds on a strong stem. It will hold 10 open flowers at the same time. Offspring of a great mother Kráska with the mark 3x !!!.
153-Y CYNTIA
Cyntia stands out with its huge flowers, measuring 500 (5,51 in). The flower color is characterized by pastel orange in several shades.
277-Q MY RED
Bright red gladiolus with thick wax in the petals. As a decorative variety, it stands out beautifully in a vase in a group of other flowers.
543-Y NATALKA
VIDEO +Cormels A variety admired and awarded at the international exhibition at the castle in Holešov – Czech Republic. Cyclamen in all shades. The massive flowers are arranged in a regular double row.
261-Z NICOLE
It comes from mother Kejsy and can be recognized by the firm wax flowers and strong stem. It also inherited the overall robustness and uniformity of the flowers. Nicole delights with its bright colors.
48-Z MADAM PRESIDENT
A beautiful, tall, strong, 28-bud variety, while keeping 14 open flowers at the same time, which enhances the overall impression. Awarded in audience polls and at international exhibitions.

VIDEO The basic color of the massive flowers is soft pink to „pink“. The beautiful red eye with a yellowish border makes it stand out. Health and good reproduction are reliable every year. In addition to the beautiful color, the stable quality of individual plants secured it 1st place in the 3 ears category at the international exhibition..
17-Z MARTINA
VIDEO +Cormels Martina has some kind of anomaly in her genes. It is perhaps the tallest gladiolus in the world. In a colleague’s garden it reached a height of 2 meters !! (78,7 in). Glows in beautiful shades of pink red. It has an extremely long stem on which it carries 28 buds. It is unique, but I can’t imagine it in a congratulatory bouquet.
84-Z MERCIE CHERIE
Like many of my crosses, Mercie Cherie comes from the great parents Elegant x Cheery Pink. There are up to 27 buds on a long spike or whip. The vital and early flowering variety is also popular in florists.
70-Y MICHAELA
A great descendant of the Red Laser variety. Pure deep red color, strong wax in the flower petals. The photo is of a smaller plant, it can achieve higher parameters.
6-Q MOLLY
+Cormels Very early variety with large flowers with a signal red color and a white border on the tongues. Molly sometimes „discolors“ on the lower flowers, but this does not detract from its beauty. More decorative than a show variety of medium height.
21-Y NIKA
VIDEO +Cormels Robust, strong with large dark red flowers from which white rays radiate. Healthy, prolific, competitive with proper flowering. Awarded several times at exhibitions.
194-Y ORANGE EXPERT
VIDEO +Cormels This truly expert among gladioli won 1st place for large-flowered new breeding at the international exhibition in Poland and other awards. Under good weather conditions, it will hold up to 18!! of fresh simultaneously opened flowers. At the same time, it has a beautiful orange color.
62-Y POPOLVÁR
Brown gladiolus with a darker tongue and lighter arrows. Smoke gladioli are becoming more and more popular among visitors to exhibitions. A beautiful vital variety especially for collectors of oddities.
29-Y RADOSŤ
VIDEO The variety „Radosť“ is truly a joy to look at. Bright red flowers with different shades and a delicate white border on the petals and white arrows on the petals-tongues. It is healthy and reproduces well. „Joy“ is very early, blooming among the first in the flowerbed.
79-Z RED KING
Excellent gladiolus with a deep red wide rim, the center in pastel tones of red-pink. Flawless structure of a firm spike, high number of buds. Many good qualities inherited from the mother Red Lasser.
28-Y ROYAL BLOOD
+Cormels I consider Royal Blood to be a contribution to breeding. Royal purple or with an elegant light annealing of the basic color, together with the strength of the ear, the number of buds and the right flower are great.
15-Y SANDY
For me, the most beautiful cognac yellow variety ever. It has a massive spike with flawless flower arrangement. Delicate brown-burgundy „mustache“ on the petals, so-called patternet, inherited from its mother Elegant.
278-Y JÚLIA
It is characterized by deep ruffled flowers and orange shades from the Orange Expert mother. Not exactly the best photographed, but you can judge the quality on the attached video.
23-Y IVONKA
Under good conditions it will hold up to 16 at the same time!! open flowers at the same time, which are arranged in three rows in the lower two-thirds of the spike!!. This is a certain anomaly that may or may not be repeated. The total number of buds on the stem is also amazing, which is up to 32!!. Extra class!
65-Y KORINA
VIDEO +Cormels The golden-cognac eye is edged with a wide pink-red border around the entire circumference of the flowers. My favorite decorative variety with vibrant colors.
8-Y-DONA
+Cormels Dona has a pure deep red color without any signs of other color. Other parameters such as code designation, flowering time, total number of buds and simultaneously open flowers along with the degree of waxiness of the flowers are listed directly in the picture.

VIDEO Very early variety, with bright red color with whitish veining of the tongues-petals. 13 simultaneously open flowers on a long stem that carries 28 buds!. Beautiful! Grand Champion at the International Gladiolus Exhibition.
12-Y SLOVENSKO
VIDEO Bright purple-pink variety with 5-star parameters. A massive hard spike carries up to 26 buds. (code correction – in the photo it is 484 and should be 466). I rank it among the most beautiful things that have blossomed in my place.
259-Z SMILING BRIDE
The pure white veil of flowers is decorated with red rays from the throat of the flower, like a bride’s smile. „Smiling Bride“ on a 160 cm tall plant bears up to 30 buds and simultaneously holds 14 open flowers. Florists can look forward to its popularity. In my notes 3x !!!

VIDEO +Cormels Purple-red eyes on a paler background make Sofi a beauty. An attractive variety with mischievous, red cheeks. An exhibition and market variety.
300-Z SOLAR FLOVER
Robust flowers in sunny colors in good conditions exceed the 500 (5,51 in) category by 2.6 cm(1,0 in), which should put them in the not yet approved 600 category!. According to the new criteria, I mark it as 500+.
83-Z VENISE
Perfect interplay of colors. The base of the flower is salmon-colored and the petals (lower petals) have a large red-burgundy eye with a border. The powerful plant, up to 160 cm (63 in), has a strong stem and thick wax, which it inherited from its mother Xavier. In the work record 3 times !!!
139-Q WAX LADY
The petals of the creamy-white flowers are extremely wrinkled and saturated with wax – W5. The throat of the flower, partly also the edges of the petals are decorated with a brown pattern /unique hereditary pattern-drawing/, after the mother Elegant. Fragile beauty
63-Q WENDY
Wendy 3x !!! in the notes means quality. In the photo it is from a small tuber, in reality it is tall and has up to 25 buds. The fine powder in the throat of the flower and the star-shaped petals make it a real showpiece.

Pink with cream spots on the lower petals. All petals are edged with needles – teeth. Single-row exotic!.
107-Q PROCYON EXOTIC
+Cormels A lavender-pink gladiolus with a lighter shade in the throat and intense white veining. There is a golden mark on the lower petals. On the 180 cm tall plants, the flowers are arranged in a perfect double row and there are 25 to 30 buds on the spikes, which makes it an excellent variety for cutting and for exhibitions.
42-Q RUMJANIJE SČOTY
Robust light orange-ocher variety. Flawless structure of the ear, decorative, healthy variety. My Grand Champion at the exhibition in Rajecký Teplice. From her „father“ Cleopatra (strange for a female name) she inherited great characteristics – height, ear strength, number of buds and inflorescence.
227-Q SEŽNIJ KRAJ
+Cormels A tall, healthy variety. On a sturdy stem are pure white flowers, with a hint of pale green in the throat. It is popular for its thickly waxy ruffled flowers and good durability after being cut. Florists like to use it in wedding bouquets.
174-Y UNFORGETABLE
The strongly wavy medium old pink flowers have a large cream eye in the middle of the lower petals, which is beautifully edged with purple. Fixed two-row arrangement of flowers. There are 23-25 buds on the spikes, while simultaneously holding 9-11 open flowers in a perfect display arrangement. A unique display variety that will delight everyone.
171-Q DENEB EXOTIC
The flower color is dark mahogany to smoky brown with a white background. It opens 8-10 square flowers on spikes with 22 to 24 buds. It grows healthily and reproduces well. Exotic.

+Cormels Smoky to velvety brown-red with a yellow stripe. Rich and original color and wax. Extremely strong stem. Very popular in polls of exhibition visitors and among growers.
216-Q ZALA JURMALA
Green gladioli are basically pale green to yellowish, especially on the lower flowers. Zala Jurmala is one of the few truly green gladioli. In addition, it forms a nice spike and has plenty of wax in the petals. It is especially suitable for collectors of oddities.

Raspberry pink with round wavy flowers. On the large eyes there is a dark pink mesh eye, edged with a light cream border. Beautiful!

+Cormels Medium-sized gladiolus with very delicate and distinct flower curls. The flowers are 3-colored. Creamy pink base color, delicate yellow spot on the lower petals and a light red tongue on it. Dense and precise placement of flowers. Grows healthy, beautiful!
