New Gladiolus Varieties – Peter Lelek

40-X NELKINE MIHALNICE

sold out VIDEO The base color of the gladiolus is pink.This new variety currently features the longest needle-like petals (S-3) among gladioli of this type.
The delicate pink-and-white flowers reach a size of 400–500, which is exceptional for needle-type gladioli.
The slightly twisted form of the flowers places this variety among decorative–exotic gladioli.

34-Z NEŽNÉ IHLIČKY

VIDEO The base color of the gladiolus is salmon.It belongs to the new ruffled varieties with a delicate needle-like pattern.The salmon-colored flowers appear very harmonious, highlighted by white rays emerging from the throat, which give the flower lightness and elegance.

25-Z VINCENT van GOGH

sold out VIDEO The flowers have a carmine base and resemble paintings by Vincent van Gogh in vivid tones. A dark red marking on the lower petal dissolves into the entire flower in flame-like transitions. Despite minor imperfections on the spike, this variety represents a unique decorative novelty for lovers of unusual forms.

VIDEO The flowers have a red base with a bright vanilla-colored center and ray-like markings that create a very fresh appearance. Occasionally, the formation of additional buds around the circumference of the spike may occur. Otherwise, the flowers show a fine, two-row arrangement.

88-Z LYSANDRA

VIDEO The flowers of Lysandra are distinctly variegated and unmistakable. A characteristic feature is the dark carmine eye with a cognac-golden border, a trait inherited by many of its offspring. A radiant variety, regarded as one of the highest-quality decorative cultivars.

297-Y ALEGRO

sold out The flowers create a cheerful impression, which is well reflected in the variety name Allegro. The base color is a pale lavender-pink, complemented by a yellowish edging on deeply ruffled, rounded flowers in soft pastel tones. A very early-flowering variety.

63-Z MALINOVÝ KRÉM

sold out The variety name precisely reflects its coloration. Deeply ruffled flowers with an exotic appearance resemble orchids and are distinguished by a thick waxy substance of the petals, which increases durability both in the garden bed and as a cut flower in a vase.

sold out A vigorous plant with beautiful pink coloration, in places with a white undertone. The spike carries up to 28 buds, with approximately 14 flowers open at the same time. After clicking on the main photograph, a softer color version is also visible, photographed without direct sunlight.

8-Z BOLERO

VIDEO It belongs to a breeding series derived from the maternal variety Peklo, from which it inherited a strong spike structure and high vitality. In the accompanying video, an interesting phenomenon can be observed, where two spikes emerge from a single corm—one exhibition-quality spike with 26 buds, and another with multiplied flowers around the stem bearing up to 32 buds.

An ultra-ruffled, double-flowered variety with a striking exotic appearance. Richly shaped flowers appear highly sculptural and unmistakable both in the garden bed and in bouquets. A variety intended for lovers of curiosities and unconventional forms.

The flowers have a vivid cyclamen-purple base with a darker eye and a white arrow. The color contrast gives the flower depth and makes it very striking both in the garden bed and as a cut flower. The variety appears fresh and unmistakable.

The variety stands out for its good health, vigor, and reliable propagation performance under various conditions. sold out VIDEO On a long flower spike with 26 buds, it is able to hold up to 16 flowers open at the same time, representing an exceptional record. Beautiful, rounded flowers in orange shades have brought it multiple successes at exhibitions, including the title of Grand Champion.

The flowers glow in sunny colors and appear very fresh and optimistic. The robust spike is shown at an early stage of flowering, yet the strong stem reliably supports around 10 flowers open at the same time. An undemanding and reliable cultivar suitable for all gardens.

Gladioli - foreign varieties

128-Z VNUČKINY RESNICI

Unusual exotic petal edges are covered with long needles (S-3) at high density. The light brown to salmon coloration gradually darkens toward the petal edges, while the center of the throat is creamy white with a gentle transition to light brown. An exhibition winner.

44-Y EDDIE VAN HALEN

A contrasting combination of a white base color with a sharply defined purple-red eye on the lower petals. The cultivar produces long, slender spikes with a high-quality structure and firmly set flowers. It is characterized by good growth vigor and reliable propagation.

214-Y SMALKAIS STILS

A variety with the most pronounced ruffled petals and butterfly-shaped flowers seen in gladioli. Graceful white-and-pink flowers with a red eye create a very harmonious and balanced overall impression.

78-Z RAJSKIE RESNIČKI

On a plant approximately 150 cm tall, red-pink flowers are borne with petals edged by pronounced needle-like projections. This detail makes the variety distinctive and easily recognizable. A unique ornament of the new type of needle-form gladioli.

174-Y UNFORGETABLE

Strongly undulated antique-rose to cyclamen-colored flowers feature a prominent cream eye with a violet edging on the lower petals. A firm two-row arrangement is complemented by a spike bearing 23–25 buds, while simultaneously holding 9–11 open flowers in a harmonious exhibition form.

227-Q SNEŽNIL KRAJ

A tall and healthy variety with pure white flowers, gently transitioning to pale green in the throat. Thick, waxy, ruffled flowers are noted for their good longevity after cutting and are especially popular in wedding bouquets. It ranks among the most sought-after white gladioli.

61-Q PEKLO

The smoky to velvety brownish-red flower color is accentuated by a delicate yellow stripe. The flowers show good undulation and a pronounced waxy substance, which gives them depth and durability. Older corms may occasionally produce multiplied buds, and the variety is very successful on the market.

1-Y ELVIRA

A black-pink gladiolus of vigorous growth forms a spike with 30 to 34 buds, depending on corm quality and growing conditions. At the same time, it is able to hold approximately 12 flowers open, giving it a very impressive appearance.

189-Y KURŠU SAGŠA

Raspberry-pink flowers have a rounded shape with gentle undulation. Large eyes filled with dark pink netting and edged with a light cream border create a striking yet balanced contrast. The variety appears very elegant and unmistakable.

178-Y BEAUTIFUL DAY

A clear light lavender flower color is complemented by darker reflections along the petal edges and a rich purple-wine eye. A long spike, even coloration, and high-quality flower structure are complemented by the plant’s good health.

212-Q FILAKI

The base color of the flowers is mahogany-purple, strongly illuminated by pronounced white veining. Firm spikes bear 22–24 buds, while simultaneously holding 7–9 strongly waxy and undulated flowers. The variety has a distinctly exotic appearance.

At the bottom right of the photographs: e.g. RADOSŤ 456 – the first number indicates the flower size 400 (11.4 to 14.0 cm), the second two-digit number 56 indicates the flower color (dark red), E indicates the flowering time (70–74 days), 24/10 indicates the number of buds / number of flowers open at the same time, W3 indicates the waxiness of the petals. Sometimes S-1 to S-3 is also used, indicating the intensity of serration along the petal edges.
